SEAT guns for the Twizy with Minimo concept
The vehicle is 2500mm long, 180mm longer than a twizy and the same length as the original Smart ForTwo. It’s also slightly wider at 1240mm compared to 1190mm for the Twizy, but significantly less than the ForTwo’s 1510mm width.
However, unlike the Twizy, the Minimo has a trick up its sleeve. Rather than relying on connection to a close-by charging point, the battery can be pulled out and swapped for a fully charged one. The Minimo has a range of over 100 km (62 miles) on single charge.
Both doors open vertically. The left door, which is slightly smaller than the right side increases visibility for passengers, while the larger right door makes entering and exiting the vehicle easier for the passenger.
Seat is currently evaluating how and where it could produce the Minimo. However, it has potentially reignited the segment for small practical Electric vehicles, and if successful could herald the boom in these cars for inner city use.
